In general, graduate students in the four Divisions register by first going to their departments and obtaining registration forms listing their quarterly courses. These are then delivered to their area Deans of Students offices where the course information is entered into the student information systems by staff. Students in the professional schools are registered by their respective Deans of Students staff.
Students in the Booth School of Business and Law School register according to those units' posted procedures. Registration for any quarter, including pre-registration bidding or advance selection of courses, will only be allowed for students in good standing for the current and preceding quarters—who are not restricted for outstanding tuition and fees, immunization, or other reasons.
A web-based registration system is available to students in certain departments in the Graduate Divisions and in certain professional schools pending the approval of their area Deans of Students.
With few exceptions graduate students in any unit wishing to register for a College-level course (course number starting with "1" or "2" may only do so through their area Deans of Students starting the second week of a quarter.
Non-Booth students in any unit, including the College, wishing to register for a Booth School of Business course may only do so starting the second week of a quarter with both the permission of the Booth School of Business and their own Dean of Students.
