Students who cannot register themselves for a course may be registered by instructor consent, which is given at the discretion of the instructor and not guaranteed.
For Autumn Quarters, the consent process begins in mid-September. For Winter and Spring Quarters, the consent process opens the Wednesday following the end of the preceding quarter through my.UChicago. For Summer Quarters, the Instructor Consent form is not to be used. Undergraduate students interested in enrollment in a summer course that is full should submit a waitlist request at Summer Session Waitlist Request. Please contact the Summer Session Office at email@example.com with any questions.
Professors may choose to use either the online or printable consent form. Note that printable consent forms will not be accepted by the Registrar’s office until Week 1, therefore signatures should not be solicited from professors until classes begin.
Approved consent forms can be submitted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or in person to the Registrar’s Office through Friday of Week 3.
After Week 3, students may not add any class except by petition to the Dean of Students in the College.
