Transcript Orders

The National Student Clearinghouse provides an online ordering service for University of Chicago students and alumni. Current students may order their transcripts through cMore, but alumni and former students should use the Clearinghouse's secure site.

Ordering Details

Transcripts may be ordered in three ways:

  1. By a secured internet transaction over the web:

    • Anyone with an active CNET ID (all current students and anyone wholeft the university or graduated after Autumn Quarter 2005) should use the cMore site: http://cmore.uchicago.edu/. (no charge if you've paid the Lifetime Transcript Fee, otherwise $12 per transcript)

    • Alumni or former students (only) without an active CNET ID must usethe National Student Clearinghouse's secure site, and may opt to pay the Lifetime Transcript fee or $12 per transcript via credit card.

  2. In person in the Office of the University Registrar, at a cost of $12 per transcript via cash, check or credit card. (Charges apply to alumni or former students only.)

  3. By mail, sending a signed request and enclosing a check in the amount of $12 per transcript via check. (Charges apply to alumni or former students only.)

Mailed Orders

You may use a downloadable form which you print, fill out, SIGN, and then mail (or bring along with payment) to the Office of the University Registrar, 5801 S. Ellis Avenue, Room 103, Chicago, IL 60637.

If mailing an order for a transcript and you cannot use the downloadable form above, please send a letter to the Office of the University Registrar containing the following items:

  1. Your Name--Printed or Typed. Indicate any other names or spellings of your name that you may have used while a student at the University of Chicago.
  2. Your Signature (We cannot process your order without this--a computer generated signature is not acceptable)
  3. The approximate dates you attended the University.
  4. Your Social Security Number, if you have one, and/or your 6-digit University of Chicago ID Number, if you remember it.
  5. Your current home mailing address, telephone number or email address (So we can correspond with you if there are any problems in processing your order.)
  6. The address(es) where each copy of your transcript is to be sent.
  7. Enclose payment (check) payable to the University of Chicago in the amount of $12 per transcript ordered. (Charges apply to alumni or former students only.)
  8. Transcripts to be sent via Federal Express incur extra processing fees per order: $18 domestic destinations; $24 Canada/Mexico; $43 International destinations. If you have questions concerning these fees call 773-702-7891.

Online Orders

The University of Chicago has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the internet.

  • To order an official transcript(s), login to the Clearinghouse secure site.
  • The site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session. (Alumni or former students: Credit cards are charged after orders are processed and posted.)
  • Order updates will be emailed to you. You can also check order status or history online.
